Story Time Character Hour
On the first Saturday of every month, the BookStores hosts Story Time Character Hour at our SUMC location (with some exceptions). Story Time is an engaging event for children ages two to five. It’s full of reading, activities, and crafts— complete with the chance to meet and take pictures with their favorite storybook characters! Our most popular events feature kid-favorite characters such as Paddington, Pete the Cat, and Rainbow Fish. Best of all, the event is absolutely FREE and open to the public.
Where Can I Park?
The BookStores, Student Union Memorial Center: Parking in the Second Street Garage (on Mountain Avenue just south of Speedway Boulevard) is usually available on the weekend for $2 per hour. Visitor parking on Highland Avenue, Main Gate, Park Avenue, Cherry Avenue and Tyndall Avenue garages is free on weekends and holidays pending special event parking restrictions. Alternative free parking on the weekends is generally available behind the Speech and Hearing Sciences Building on East Second and Palm Drive, lot #3039. Hourly pay parking is available on campus through the Passport Parking App. This parking rate is also $2 per hour. Please be sure to read and abide by posted signs when parking on campus.
