Note: If you currently have a Windows 7 Operating System please read the important information below regarding end of support effective January 14, 2020 and what you need to do.
Microsoft Windows 7 Support Ends January 14, 2020 - Upgrade to Windows 10
Potential Risks - How does this affect you?
After January 14th 2010 Windows 7 computers will be more susceptible to malware and viruses since Microsoft will no longer address major holes in the software. Although antivirus software will continue to fend off some malicious attacks, Microsoft's security updates provide an essential line of defense. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that may not work with Windows 7.
Campus policy requires that devices connected to the network run software for which security patches are made available - and installed - in a timely fashion. After support ends, Windows 7 will no longer be in compliance with campus policy.
If you have a Windows 7 Operating System it is important to upgrade to Windows 10 in order to receive regular security updates that will protect your devices from malicious attacks.
