Award-Winning Technology Service Center

Whether your computer has stopped turning on, or you think you may have a virus, the certified technicians at the University of Arizona BookStores' award-winning Technology Service Center are here to help.

What we do:

Our services range from hardware repairs, data migration, hardware upgrades, software troubleshooting, plus much more!

We are ACMT (Apple Certified Mac Technicians) as well as a Dell & Safeware Authorized service hub. We can also perform basic software troubleshooting for most types of PC's.

The most common repairs we see are busted LCD screens, liquid damage, keyboard & trackpad malfunctions, and battery replacements.

Most repairs may even be done for little to no charge if they are covered under warranty. If you are curious to know if your device is covered under warranty, check the following links:

Service Center FAQs

The Computer Service Center is conveniently located on the lower level of the University of Arizona BookStores, SUMC in the Student Union Memorial Center on the University of Arizona campus. Stop in today for a FREE diagnostic!

We are open during the normal operating hours of our SUMC flagship BookStore location. Check current hours here

The current estimated turnaround time for Apple repairs are 3-5 business days plus an additional day or two for diagnostics.

Dell systems will take a longer amount of time due to limited availability of parts. Some repairs can be completed within 1-3 weeks, but it is strongly recommended to plan for a more realistic 4-6 weeks turnaround time.

We completely understand how difficult it can be to be without a computer, which is why we continue to work diligently to ensure your system is returned to you fully repaired in a reasonable amount of time.

Unfortunately, we do not have any systems available for loaning out.

Enrolled students can borrow laptops from the University Libraries. Employees, however, should work with their departments to address their laptop and internet needs.

Yes. Our award-winning technicians are certified to repair Apple® & in warranty Dell™ laptops and desktops. Once we confirm your warranty status, we'll be able to perform services and order hardware, and your warranty will cover it. In most cases, our repairs are performed at no additional cost to our customers. We even accept ALL systems with Safeware protection to process out for repair.

Macs and iPads under AppleCare+ with physical damage will have a deduction when processing. Those deductions are:

Macs with AppleCare+

  • Drop or hit damage: $99
  • Liquid spillage or massive drop damage: $299

Macs without AppleCare+

  • Drop or hit damage: $550 - $730
  • Liquid spillage or massive drop damage: $850 - $1525

iPads with AppleCare+

  • iPad accidental: $59
  • Pencil/Apple-branded keyboard accidental: $29

The Technology Service Center can still perform limited repair services for non-warranty Apple systems at a very competitive rate.

Unfortunately, we are not able to service any Dell computers that are not under the manufacturer or Safeware protection plans at this time. If you have an out-of-warranty Dell system or any other PC with repair needs, we recommend our friends at SWS Computers for further assistance. Otherwise, we recommend checking out the support offered directly from your system's manufacturer.

We are able to perform basic software troubleshooting for non-Apple or Dell systems for a cost but unable to order replacement parts at this time. For further software troubleshooting, we recommend contacting UITS 24/7 support.

For any hardware issues with other PC’s, we recommend contacting or visiting, SWS Computers located down the road on Speedway & Alvernon.
