Important Details

If employment ends before the balance is paid, the remaining amount must be paid within 30 days of separation. Accounts that are more than 30 days past due will accrue interest at 1.5% per month (18% annually). Any account referred for collections will also be responsible for attorney and collection fees.

Guidelines For The University Campus Store Payroll Deduction Program
  1. Payroll deduction is currently available for computer hardware and accessories only; it cannot be used for textbooks, general books, educational supplies, merchandise, or other services.
  2. University employees are eligible for payroll deduction after having been employed for 180 days. The University of Arizona faculty and staff member must be employed at least 30 hours/week (a minimum of .75 FTE appointment AND Pay Status Active).
  3. Only University employees may use payroll deduction; family members are not eligible. The employee must be present to sign the Payroll Deduction Election and Authorization Form and present a valid University ID at purchase.
  4. An initial transaction fee of $25 will be payable at the time of purchase. (Flat fee; a single transaction may include multiple qualifying technology items up to the $2,000 limit.)
  5. After the transaction is completed at the register, payroll deduction will begin with the next paycheck.
  6. Each employee may have only one payroll deduction transaction balance in effect at any time.
  7. Maximum payroll deduction amount is $2,000.
  8. Purchased amounts are deducted over 6 months (12 pay periods).
  9. If the account is not paid in full by payroll deduction, the remaining balance is due within 30 days after the last day of employment. Interest of 1.5% per month (18% annually) applies if more than 30 days past due. If referred to collections, actual attorney and collection fees apply.
  10. Payroll Deduction Transactions are processed Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Can I purchase product for a family member through payroll deduction? No. The University Campus Store’s Payroll Deduction Program is for current University of Arizona employees only.
  2. What if I don’t have my ID card with me? We can hold your order until you can return with your ID card. We cannot process an order without your ID card present.
  3. Can I purchase more than one item at a time? Yes, but you cannot exceed the established limits without manager authorization.
  4. What if I want to spend more than the established limits and the person I’m working with cannot contact the appropriate manager? We will request approval for your order and contact you once we have a decision.
  5. What if I leave the University and still owe money? If the amount owed is not satisfied through payroll, you will have 30 days to remit payment before the balance is sent to collections.
  6. What will I see on my paycheck? You’ll see a deduction code and abbreviated description BKTEC “Campus Store Technology Purchase.” The total on your paystub is cumulative for the year and reflects all payroll deductions.
  7. Can I extend the number of pay periods for my purchases? No. The program follows the guideline of 12 deduction periods.
